How Lucky
by Will Leitch

View in Library Catalog

I enjoyed the story and the message to be grateful and enjoy life. The writing style from time to time lost me. But overall enjoyed it.

The Last Black Unicorn
by Tiffany Haddish

View in Library Catalog

Tiffany Haddish has had a crazy life. I can't believe some of the things I read but you can see the love and forgiveness she has for her family, mom especially. After going through so much and becoming a success was inspiring to read.

People We Meet On Vacation
by Emily Henry

I lost track of how many times I laughed out loud reading this one. Emily is a dialogue/banter master!

Becoming
by Michelle Obama

I was surprised about the information she shared such as not wanting Obama to be present until 2016, really not thinking he would be one and having to go through invitro to have a children. This book did not disappoint and could not stop reading.

Lisey's Story By Stephen King
by Stephen King

I told a while to get thru but I enjoy the story. It was a little upsetting about what he did to her the crazy guy for the books. And I felt sorry for her husband what he went thru as a child. The book reminds me of another story I read but I can't remember the name. I enjoy Kings books and I can't wait for next one. I like how she was able go into his world

A History Of My Brief Body
by Billy-ray Belcourt

This felt like I was reading Billy's beautifully written diary. His thoughts on his existence and the way he moves through the world is soft and strong, brown and quiet and his essays provide the reader a glimpse of this experience through the words of a pet and his wife list of references. This is astounding.

The Maidens
by Alex Michaelides

I wanted this to be more than it was. I felt like it had such great premise but fell short in how it was carried out.

The Betting Woman
by Jenni L. Walsh

The book had a good idea and started off strong in its depiction of a figure from history but as it progressed it seemed rushed even the ending.

Born A Crime
by Trevor Noah

Trevor Noah has a crazy way of sharing crazy stories but at the same time making it very funny. Through reading his novel you not only learn about him but the strength and admiration that he has for his mother. Tears definitely.

Malibu Rising

Wow! I couldn’t put this book down. The course of the book tells the happenings of the 24 hours leading up to a party and also the flashbacks of how the family got there and what they went through. All of that built up and came to the surface making them acknowledge who they are, what they need to heal, and what brought them to where they are.
